Philips IP&S - Emograph application design

The challenge

The end result of a successful app looks simple and stylish, so you are rarely aware of the complexity behind the application. It is not possible to describe the app with the help of an included manual or instructional video. Downloading the app from the store, launching it and using it immediately, without any explanation, is the only procedure a new user will accept. Philips IP&S developed an app that visualizes the user's emotions; the EmoGraph app. Centagon was asked to develop a highly intuitive user interface that would reduce the threshold for use to an absolute minimum.

The process

The starting point for the development of the user interface was a functional model created in collaboration with the developers.

The result

Centagon then created an interface that exceeded all expectations by translating the high technical complexity into a minimalist design that every user can use immediately. Clear, uncluttered and natural, fully in line with the Philips identity guidelines.
